Born and raised on the east side of Bakersfield, Dylan Pearson is a product of the community he hopes to serve. The son of two elementary school teachers, Dylan attended Bakersfield City School District schools from kindergarten through eighth grade before graduating from Highland High School.
After high school, Dylan earned his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and went on to receive his teaching credential and master's degree in education from the University of California, Irvine. Upon completing his education, he returned home to Bakersfield, where he has spent his career serving as a high school social studies teacher and basketball coach. Through his work in public education, Dylan has gained firsthand experience supporting student success both inside and outside the classroom. That experience has given him valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges facing students, families, educators, and school districts.
As a teacher, coach, and lifelong member of the Bakersfield community, Dylan understands the importance of strong schools, dedicated educators, and meaningful partnerships with parents. He is committed to bringing practical experience, thoughtful leadership, and a student-centered approach to the Bakersfield City School District Board.
